It's amazing that this week marks the 20-year anniversary of the release of Fargo. Joel and Ethan Coen's iconic neo-noir about a kidnapping-gone-wrong is one of my favorite movies and was on the original AFI Top-100 films of all time. Few other movies have combined an exploration of the darkness of human nature with such genuine humor. And Marge Gunderson's ride back into town with the remaining murderer offers one of the best pieces of dialogue ever written. After listing the numerous deaths from the extortion plot, she says, while looking out at the frigid wasteland of the Minnesota prairie, "And for what? For a little bit of money. There's more to life than a little money, ya know. Don'tcha know that? Now here ya are. And it's a beautiful day. I just don't understand it."
