Do yourself a favor a kick off this holiday weekend with some silliness. Check out this video from Stephen Colbert as he spoofs public access television by hosting a program called “Only in Monroe,” spotlighting a small town in Michigan. With similar elements as his Colbert Report segment “Better Know a District,” the best part of the video is Colbert’s interview with a “local Michigander” who specializes in “fast-rapping” and is attempting to make a name for himself in the music world, Marshall Mathers (at the 22:00 mark). With unfettered earnestness and a fake plant by side, Colbert’s ability to keep a straight face amid the absurdity is second to none. And Eminem holds his own nicely. Head over to Indiewire and take a look. Enjoy!
