I'm a big fan of Jonathan Haidt, the NYU professor of social psychology, best-selling author, popular TED speaker, and co-founder of the excellent website Heterodox Academy. Haidt is a political independent who analyzes people's beliefs from a dispassionate and scholarly perspective.
